Incruse Ellipta (umeclidinium bromide)
Indications
Incruse Ellipta is indicated for-
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Used for the maintenance treatment of COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
- Helps improve breathing by relaxing the muscles around the airways, making it easier to breathe.
Dosage and Administration
- Use Incruse Ellipta exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- Inhale once daily at the same time each day.
- Follow the inhalation instructions carefully to ensure proper dosage.
- Open the cover of the inhaler.
- Breathe out fully away from the inhaler.
- Place the mouthpiece between your lips and close your lips around it.
- Take a deep, steady breath through your mouth.
- Hold your breath for about 3-4 seconds.
- Remove the inhaler and breathe out slowly and gently.
- Do not use Incruse Ellipta to treat sudden breathing problems. Always keep a fast-acting inhaler (rescue inhaler) for sudden symptoms.
- Do not use more than one inhalation per day.
- Avoid shaking the inhaler before use.
- Do not expose the inhaler to moisture; close the cover after each use.
Mechanism of Action
Incruse Ellipta is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on muscarinic receptors in the airway muscles. This action prevents the muscles from tightening, which helps to keep the airways open and makes breathing easier for patients with COPD.
