Do not take this medication if you recently had a baby or are pregnant; if you are allergic to Motilium (Domperidone).

What precautions should I follow when taking Motilium?

Before using this medicine, tell your health care providers about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding; if you have bleeding from the stomach or other problems involving the bowels; if you have pituitary (brain) tumor; if you have liver disease; if you have medicine sensitivity to Motilium (Domperidone).

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Motilium?

Inform our doctor if you are taking any Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors such as Furoxone (furazolidone), Nardil (phenelzine), Matulane (procarbazine), Eldepryl (selegilene), or Parnate (tranylcypromine).

What are the side effects of Motilium?

Severe: Loss of balance or muscle control; swelling of the mouth; fast, irregular pounding or racing heartbeat or pulse; or swelling of the face, hands, lower legs, or feet.

Common: Breast milk flowing from the nipple; dry mouth; swelling of the breast in the male; headache; hives; hot flashes; itching of skin; itching, redness, pain, or swelling of eye; menstrual irregularities; pain in the breast; Change in need to urinate;

How should I take Motilium?

Read the directions on the prescription label. Take this medication as directed on the label or by your pharmacist, doctor, or other healthcare provider.Take one tablet of Motilium (Domperidone) with water 15 to 30 minutes before your meal. Patients who also need to take stomach antacid tablets should wait 2 hours before and after taking Motilium (Domperidone). When taking Motilium (Domperidone), regular visits to the doctor will be needed to ensure the medication is working properly. Do not miss any doctor appointments. Contact your doctor if you notice that your symptoms are not improving within a few days of starting the medication or if your symptoms have gotten worse.
